The main monument of the Škocjanske jame Regional Park , i. e. Škocjanske jame (Škocjan Caves) itself, has been recognised as UNESCO world heritage since 1986. In addition, there is two-hundred year anniversary of cave tourism in 2019. Both reasons connected with past good as well as bad practices with future challenges are excellent opportunity to discuss sustainability of cave tourism at this place.
Conference will take place in the centre of the Škocjanske jame Regional Park (Promotion-congress centre “Pr Nanetovh; Matavun 8, SI-6215 Divača).
Access to the venue
Leave highway A1 (Ljubljana-Koper) at the exit Divača and turn to the direction of the Škocjan Caves (Škocjanske jame). In the Matavun settlement, follow the main road (to the Vreme settlement). The last building on the left (east) in the Matavun settlement is the Promotion-congress centre “Pr Nanetovh”.
